Session 1

  • Fundamentals in Planned Giving:  How to Build Your Prospect List and Know When It's Time For a Conversation Who are your best Planned Giving donor prospects and when are they ready for a conversation?  How do you begin the Planned Giving conversation and what tools can help you?   – John Erstling, Senior VP, Community Engagement & Philanthropy, and Donna Morrow, Director of Developement – Community Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation  (Through discussion & case studies, this session will give you ideas to help you succeed.
  • Tax Reform and how it will affect the Philanthropic Community - Clay B. Tousey III, Fisher, Tousey, Leas & Ball

  • Now What? Stewarding the Planned Gift Donor - So what's next?  You have documented a planned gift which may be realized several decades from today.  Who knows if you will even be with your current nonprofit.  What is my role in stewardship and what does that look like?  During this interactive session we will discuss & share different ways to keep deferred giving donors engaged and how best to transfer these long term relationships as staff changes over time.   Pierre Allaire, Senior V.P., Baptist Health Foundation
  • The 4Ts of Board Leadership: Time, Talent, Treasure and Trust - Kelly Altosino-Sastre, President and CEO of KAS Consulting Services LLC    This presentation explores the link between developing and strengthening a culture of philanthropy among the board through intentionally infusing the Four Ts throughout the process of recruitment, on-boarding and continuing education of its members.  When the Four Ts become ingrained in organizational values and practices, the nonprofit can be more strategic in fund development to meet the goals of its mission.
