LIFE AFTER DEATH – MAXIMIZING DONOR GIFTS

Presented by: Jennifer Kifer, Holland & Knight

Jennifer L. Kifer is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Jacksonville office and a member of the firm's Private Wealth Services Group. Ms. Kifer helps lead a nationwide practice called the “Bequest Revenue Program” (BRP) that is devoted to representation of charitable organizations in both contested and uncontested trust and estate matters. Through the BRP, Jennifer and her team assist non-profits in accelerating and increasing bequest revenue from gifts left to them in wills and trusts. Since the BRP’s inception about 15 years ago, the Program has cleared more than $1 Billion for H&K’s charitable clients.

Previously, Ms. Kifer served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Timothy J. Corrigan at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. During law school, she was a legal intern to Justice Barbara J. Pariente at the Florida Supreme Court. Ms. Kifer graduated first in her law school class of 439.

Ms. Kifer has also taught at several institutions, including the University of Phoenix, Florida State College at Jacksonville and the University of North Florida. Among the courses she has taught are Wills, Trusts & Estates, Legal Research & Writing, Mock Trial, Constitutional Law, and Public Speaking.

The Planned Giving Council of Northeast Florida brings together nonprofit and for-profit professionals merging their expertise in estate and tax planning, financial planning and charitable giving to foster awareness and to provide an effective forum for education, communication, networking and collaboration for our gift planning community.
