The Psychology of Relationship Building in Fundraising

After earning his bachelor’s degree in science from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, Allaire picked up a master’s degree and a doctorate in biology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and the University of Louisville in Kentucky, respectively.

From 1985 to 2013, he worked in development at Clemson University, the University of Florida, and the University of North Florida. During his tenure at UNF as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and executive director of the UNF Foundation, he oversaw two campaigns raising $130 million and $103 million. Allaire then become the Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Baptist Health before retiring in 2018. Currently, Allaire serves as Principal at Pierre Allaire LLC.
